Watertight doors are doors which are designed to keep water out, they are special types of doors found on the ships located on the deck of a ship / boat above the waterline which prevent the ingress of water from one compartment to other during flooding or accidents. These doors are used onboard in areas where chances of flooding are high, such as engine room compartments and shaft tunnel etc, watertight doors are design to maintain the ships stability and security. 

Some people may mix up on the type of a watertight doors and weathertight doors, actually we can understand from its meanings, a watertight door need more strict tightness when prevent water, while weatheright door is weakness, and also watertight door is required to install on watertight cabinet, while weathetight door is required install on weathight locations. Furthermore, the test type of them are also different, watertight doors are tested using a pressure tank where a hydrostatic pressure can be applied to the door, the door is generally pressurised form the inside as this is worst case scenario. A weathertight door is generally tested with a high pressure hose, which is directed at the seal. from above explanation, hope the different of both doors are clear for you.
