Some Knowledge About Oil Absorbent Boom

Composition: Outer casing filled with meltblown polypropylene filling.

Features: Your first line of defense in case of oil spill; preventing fluid from escaping to other areas.

Absorbent material have the following characteristics:

a) Boom shall be covered with a strong net, filled with fragments of special foam, which absorbs petroleum based spills and shall repel water.

b) The net eyes shall of such size to prevent the foam material, from escaping during handling and combating oil pollution.

c) The boom shall be linked type with, self-locking arrangement, in order to form any length required, with an overlap of approximately 2 ft.

d) The boom strength shall be enough to withstand this absorbed weight as well as the impact force created by waves in rough sea.

e) Shall be easy to replace and retrieve.

f) Shall be unsinkable during and after saturation with oil.

g) Shall be suitable for heavy bunker application.h) 100% saturation.

i) Shall be non-toxic to marine lives and shall be environmentally safe.

j) Shall not be affected by temperature changes.

k) Shall not rot or mildew.

I) Shall have high flame resistance.

m) Shall be packed in heavy polyfilm for indoor and outdoor storage.

n) Shall incinerate with approximate 0.02% ash.

o) Shall effectively absorb non-aqueous liquids,solvent,vegetable oils and some non-water soluble chemicals.
