Product Description

EPDM Isolation Rubber Hose

Product Introduction:

Isolation Rubber Hose for Seismic Isolation Layer is a specialized flexible connector engineered for use within the seismic isolation layer of base-isolated buildings. In seismically isolated structures, the isolation layer accommodates relative displacement between the building above and the ground below during an earthquake. Standard rigid piping cannot tolerate this movement, leading to rupture, leakage, and loss of critical utility services. This hose is designed to remain flexible, leak-tight, and fully functional while accommodating the large lateral displacements, settlement, and vibration inherent to the isolation layer. It is an essential component for ensuring post-earthquake functionality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including water supply, fire protection, HVAC, and process piping.

Key Features:

1.High Flexibility for Seismic Displacement – Engineered to accommodate large lateral, axial, and angular movements within the isolation layer without stress transfer to rigid piping or isolation devices.

2.Earthquake-Resistant Design – Withstands repetitive seismic loading, dynamic deformation, and potential differential settlement while maintaining leak-tight integrity and continuous service.

3.Multi-Axis Movement Capability – Designed to handle simultaneous movements in horizontal, vertical, and torsional directions, replicating the complex motion of the isolation layer during a seismic event.

4.Pressure Containment Under Dynamic Loads – Reinforced with high-strength synthetic textile braids and helix wires (as required) to maintain burst resistance and vacuum resistance even during extreme deformation.

5.Corrosion-Resistant Materials – Typically constructed with EPDM, NBR, or UHMWPE tubes and galvanized or stainless steel components to resist moisture, chemicals, and aging within the isolation layer environment.

6.Wide Temperature & Media Compatibility – Suitable for water, chilled water, hot water, glycol solutions, fire-fighting foam, and air conditioning fluids across a temperature range of -40°C to +120°C (-40°F to +248°F), depending on tube material.

7.Customizable Length & Offset Capacity – Available in various lengths and configurations to match the specific design displacement of the isolation layer (typically ±300mm to ±600mm or more).

8.End Fittings for Rigid Piping Transition – Equipped with flanged, threaded, or grooved end connections to securely interface with standard rigid piping above and below the isolation layer.
