Product Description
Closed Spelter Socket for Steel Wire Ropes
Product Introduction:
The closed spelter socket is a high-strength wire rope termination device, designed for permanent and reliable end connections in demanding lifting, rigging, and suspension applications. It features a closed, forged steel body with a tapered internal cavity, into which the wire rope is inserted and securely anchored using a molten zinc or epoxy resin spelter compound. This hot-poured or resin-cured method ensures a uniform load distribution along the rope strands, achieving a termination efficiency of up to 100% of the rope's minimum breaking force. The closed design provides a streamlined, snag-free profile, making it ideal for overhead cranes, hoists, marine mooring lines, bridge cables, and elevator systems. Available in various bore sizes and material grades, these sockets offer excellent fatigue resistance, corrosion protection, and long-term durability under heavy cyclic loading conditions. They are manufactured in compliance with international standards such as EN 13411-5, ISO 16798, or ASTM A1063, ensuring safety and performance in critical lifting operations.
