Product Description
6×61 Class Round Strand Wire Rope
Product Introduction:
Designed specifically for the colossal demands of ultra-large commercial vessels and offshore platforms, our 6×61 Class Round Strand Wire Rope is a heavy-duty, extra-large diameter hoisting and towing solution. Manufactured in strict compliance with the GB/T 20067-2006 standard, this rope features a massive 6-strand, 61-wire-per-strand construction. The unique 6×61 design provides unparalleled bending flexibility for a rope of its enormous gauge, making it the ultimate choice for critical marine mooring, large-scale ship-to-ship towing, and extreme heavy-lift port operations.
Construction & Core Configurations:
The 6×61 arrangement features a high density of fine individual wires within each strand. This intricate wire pattern ensures the rope remains highly pliable despite its tremendous breaking force capabilities, minimizing internal stress when subjected to harsh marine bending cycles. Based on your core requirements, this heavy-duty cable is available in two distinct configurations:
*6X61 + FC (Fiber Core): Equipped with a superior synthetic or natural fiber core, this variant offers excellent shock-absorbing properties, lightweight handling characteristics, and superior flexibility. It is the optimal choice for loose mooring lines, tugboat towing, and general offshore haulage where smooth bending and moderate compression loads are expected.
*6X61 + IWR (Independent Wire Rope Core): Built with an independent steel wire strand core, this configuration provides significant resistance to radial compression and crushing. Due to its robust internal structure, it is highly recommended for multi-layer winch spooling on massive deck cranes, ensuring the rope maintains its shape and structural integrity under extreme drum pressure.

Primary Marine & Industrial Applications:
Given its ultra-large scale and extreme flexibility, this 6×61 Class rope is primarily deployed for:
*Giant oil tanker and VLCC (Very Large Crude Carrier) mooring systems.
*Heavy-lift floating crane rigging and port-to-ship cargo handling.
*Tugboat and ocean-going salvage towing lines.
*Offshore semi-submersible platform anchoring and dynamic positioning.
*Large-scale bulk carrier deck winch operations.
Handling & Maintenance Considerations:
Due to the massive weight and size of 80mm–160mm wire ropes, proper installation and handling are paramount. We strongly advise specialized grooved sheaves and proper reel spooling to avoid rope damage. Regular inspections for localized wire breaks, kinking, and external wear are critical. For the +IWR variant, maintaining internal lubricant integrity is vital to preventing core strand wear under immense tensile loads.
