Product Description

6V×37 Class Shaped Strand Wire Rope

Product Introduction:

The 6V×37 Class Shaped Strand Wire Rope is a premium steel wire rope purpose‑built for heavy‑duty marine and offshore operations, strictly manufactured in accordance with GB/T 8918‑2006 (Steel wire ropes for important purposes). This rope features a triangular (V‑shaped) strand profile with six strands, each composed of 37 individual wires. The higher wire count per strand – compared to 6V×30 and 6V×34 variants – delivers a denser metallic fill factor, smoother surface finish, and superior stress distribution, which collectively enhance breaking load capacity, fatigue life, and resistance to crushing in the most demanding marine environments.

Construction And Core Options:

The designation 6V×37 signifies six triangular strands, each made from 37 wires. The V‑shaped strands interlock tightly, forming a compact rope with excellent roundness and reduced wear on sheaves and drums. This rope is offered with two core types to match specific service needs:

*Fiber Core (FC) – typically polypropylene or natural fibres – provides lighter weight and greater flexibility, making it well suited for general marine hoisting, winch work, and applications involving frequent bending over small sheaves.

*Independent Wire Rope Core (IWRC) – a separate steel wire rope core – offers significantly higher strength, outstanding crush resistance, and enhanced structural stability, making it the preferred choice for heavy‑lift cranes, deep‑water mooring, towing, and salvage operations where maximum reliability is essential.

Marine‑Specific Advantages:

Engineered for the harsh conditions at sea, this wire rope offers:

1.Exceptional wear resistance – the flattened strand profile reduces point contact, extending service life of both rope and equipment.

2.High fatigue endurance – the 37‑wire strand construction improves internal stress sharing, minimizing wire breaks from cyclic bending.

3.Crush and distortion resistance – the triangular interlock maintains rope integrity under heavy radial loads.

4.Corrosion protection – available in bright (ungalvanized) or galvanized finishes; galvanized coating provides robust defence against saltwater corrosion.

5.High strength‑to‑weight ratio – allows smaller diameters to be used for given loads, saving deck space and reducing handling effort.

Typical Marine Applications:

The 6V×37 rope is widely used in:

*Shipboard cranes and derricks – for cargo loading/unloading in ports and at anchor.

*Mooring and anchoring lines – securing vessels to docks, buoys, or offshore platforms.

*Towing and salvage – ship‑to‑ship towing, harbour assistance, and emergency recovery.

*Offshore supply and drilling – winch lines, umbilical support, and subsea lifting.

*Fishing and research vessels – net hoists, trawl warps, and deep‑sea sampling.

Quality Assurance And Certification:

All reels of 6V×37 rope are produced under strict quality control systems and come with certifications including ISO 9001, CE, CCS, ABS, DNV, LR, and BV. Each batch is proof‑loaded and bend‑tested to guarantee compliance with GB/T 8918‑2006 breaking load values, ensuring that marine operators can trust this rope for critical safety‑related lifting and mooring tasks.
