XF43-26 Marine Fluorocarbon Finish

Product Description

XF43-26 Marine Fluorocarbon Finish

Product Introduction:

XF43-26 is a high-performance, two-pack fluorocarbon finish specifically formulated for demanding atmospheric environments where long-term durability and aesthetic appearance are critical. As a premium decorative and protective topcoat, it delivers exceptional resistance to UV degradation, ensuring outstanding gloss and color retention over extended service periods, even in high-sunlight exposure conditions. Its advanced fluoropolymer chemistry provides a tough, chemically resistant barrier that effectively shields steel structures from corrosion, pollution, and industrial atmospheric aggressors. With a volume solids content of 45% ± 2%, a gloss finish, and a mix ratio of 7 : 1 by volume (or 10 : 1 by mass) , this product delivers consistent and reliable application performance. Formulated with a VOC content of less than 520 g/L, it balances excellent protective performance with environmental compliance. Designed primarily for new construction and heavy-duty corrosion protection in atmospheric environments, XF43-26 offers excellent application versatility, being suitable for airless spray, air spray, and limited brush/roller application. The finish cures to a brilliant gloss appearance, providing both a premium aesthetic and a durable, easy-to-clean surface. This fluorocarbon topcoat is the ideal choice for infrastructure, marine facilities, and industrial plants where long service life and minimal maintenance are essential.

Surface Preparation:

All surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free from contamination. For primed surfaces, the existing primer should be dry and free from all contaminants. XF43-26 must be applied within the specified overcoating intervals (consult the relevant product data sheet for each primer type). Areas of breakdown or damage should be prepared to the required standard, such as Sa2.5 (GB/T 8923.1-2011) by abrasive blasting, or Power Tool Cleaning to St3, and patch primed prior to the application of XF43-26. For repair work, the areas to be repaired should be cleaned to St3 (GB/T 8923.2-2008) by mechanical methods or to Sa2.5 (GB/T 8923.2-2008) by abrasive blasting. The area immediately surrounding the repair should be abraded to provide a key for the subsequent coating, and overlap areas should be kept to a minimum.

Method Of Application:

1.Airless Spray (Recommended): Tip size 0.38–0.53 mm, output pressure ≥17 MPa.

2.Air Spray: Tip size 1.5–2.0 mm, output pressure ≥0.4 MPa.

3.Brush / Roller: Suitable for small area application only. Not generally recommended; if used in exceptional circumstances, thin with FX-501 (up to a maximum of 5% by volume).

Mixing Instructions:

The two components must be mixed thoroughly in the specified ratio of 7:1 by volume or 10:1 by mass. No induction period is required after mixing. The mixed product must be used within its specified pot life.

Thinner And Cleaner:

FX-501 is the recommended thinner for application adjustments and equipment cleaning.

Flash Point:

The product has a high flash point, with Part A and the mixed paint exceeding 31°C, and Part B exceeding 28°C, ensuring safe handling under normal conditions.

Storage And Shelf Life:

Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight, fire, and heat sources. Containers must remain tightly sealed. At 25℃, the product has a minimum shelf life of 12 months (subject to re-inspection thereafter).

Limitations:

*This product is not recommended for use in immersed (underwater) conditions.

*When applying XF43-26 by brush or roller, some colors may require two coats to achieve uniform coverage, especially when applied over dark undercoats.

*Apply only in good weather conditions. The surface temperature must be at least 3℃ above the dew point, and ambient relative humidity should be below 85%.

*Drying times and overcoating intervals may vary due to on-site environmental conditions.

*Avoid prolonged inhalation of solvent vapors or paint spray. Prevent skin and eye contact. Ensure adequate ventilation and fire prevention measures during application.
