BH50-7 Marine Tin-Free Self-Polishing Antifouling Coating
Product Description
BH50-7 Marine Tin-Free Self-Polishing Antifouling Coating
Product Introduction:
BH50-7 Tin-Free Self-Polishing Antifouling Coating It is formulated with advanced copolymer technology to provide long-lasting protection against marine biofouling while fully complying with international environmental regulations that prohibit organotin compounds such as TBT.
With a VOC content of less than 380 g/L, this coating offers an eco-friendly solution without compromising on performance, making it an ideal choice for modern vessel operators who prioritize both efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Key Features & Benefits:
1.Tin-Free Formulation--Fully compliant with IMO AFS Convention; no organotin compounds.
2.Self-Polishing Copolymer--Controlled surface dissolution ensures steady biocide release and a consistently smooth hull.
3.High Volume Solids (62% ± 2%)--Fewer coats required; higher coverage efficiency; reduced VOC emissions.
4.Excellent Antifouling Performance--Effectively prevents barnacles, algae, mussels, and other marine organisms.
5.Fuel Savings--Smooth hull surface reduces frictional resistance, lowering fuel consumption.
6.Versatile Application--Suitable for newbuilding, maintenance, and on-board repair.
7.Color Options--Available in Red (3130R) and Brown (3130B).
Film Thickness & Theoretical Coverage:
| Parameter | Minimum | Standard | Maximum |
| Dry Film Thickness (DFT) | 93 μm | 140 μm | 186 μm |
| Wet Film Thickness (WFT) | 150 μm | 225 μm | 300 μm |
| Theoretical Coverage | 6.7 m²/L | 4.4 m²/L | 3.3 m²/L |
Method of Application:
*Airless Spray (Recommended)--Tip size: 0.54–0.8 mm; Output pressure: ≥ 17 MPa.
*Conventional Air Spray--Tip size: 2.0–3.0 mm; Output pressure: ≥ 0.4 MPa.
*Brush / Roller--For small area touch-ups only.
Surface Preparation:
1.Newbuilding--Apply over recommended tie-coat scheme. Surface must be clean, dry, and free from contamination. Apply within specified overcoating interval. Damaged areas should be prepared to St3 standard and primed before topcoating.
2.Repair / Maintenance--Can be applied directly over intact and firmly adherent aged BH50-7 coating after thorough fresh water washing and degreasing. Loose or flaking coatings must be removed back to a firm edge, with appropriate primer applied to repaired areas.
Intended Uses:
*Newbuilding – for newly constructed vessels.
*Maintenance & Repair – for in-service vessels during dry-docking.
*On-Board Maintenance – for touch-ups and spot repairs during voyages.
