G43-97 Marine Recoatable Polyurethane Finish
Product Description
G43-97 Marine Recoatable Polyurethane Finish
Product Introduction:
G43-97 is a high-performance, two-pack polysiloxane finish designed for demanding marine and industrial environments. It delivers exceptional durability, outstanding gloss retention, and long-term recoatability, significantly reducing maintenance costs over the service life of the coating system. With a VOC content of less than 340 g/L, it also meets modern environmental and health safety requirements. This finish provides a tough, cosmetic appearance while offering robust protection against corrosion, UV degradation, and mechanical wear, making it an ideal topcoat for steel structures, concrete surfaces, and other substrates exposed to harsh atmospheric conditions. The product has a volume solids content of 65% ± 2% and delivers a glossy finish. It is supplied as a two-component system with a mix ratio of 12.3:1 by volume (16:1 by mass), and requires no induction period prior to application, allowing for convenient and efficient mixing and use on site.
The product is supplied in a convenient two-component packaging system: Part A (base) is provided in 25.5 kg / 18 L within a 20 L container, while Part B (curing agent) comes in 1.9 kg / 2 L within a 4 L container. Regarding safety and handling, the flash points are as follows: Part A is greater than 31°C, Part B is greater than 28°C, and the mixed paint has a flash point greater than 31°C, which should be taken into account during storage and application to ensure proper fire prevention measures.
Intended Uses:
*As a decorative and protective topcoat for steel structures in offshore platforms, wind power facilities, and marine bridges.
*For protection of concrete surfaces in industrial and coastal environments.
*Suitable for both new construction and maintenance/repair applications.

Method Of Application:
1.Airless Spray: Recommended tip size 0.38–0.53 mm, output pressure ≥17 MPa.
2.Air Spray: Recommended tip size 2.0–3.0 mm, output pressure ≥0.4 MPa.
3.Brush/Roller: Suitable for small areas only.
4.Thinner/Cleaner: Use BX-28. Thinning is not recommended except in exceptional circumstances (maximum 5% by volume). Cleaner is also BX-28.
Storage:
Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight, heat sources, and fire. Containers must remain tightly sealed. Shelf life is a minimum of 12 months at 25°C, subject to re-inspection thereafter.
Surface Preparation:
All surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free from contamination.
*New Construction: G43-97 should be applied over a recommended primer system. The primer surface must be dry, free from all contamination, and coated within the specified overcoating interval (refer to the primer data sheet). Damaged areas of the primer should be prepared to the required standard (e.g., Sa 2½ or St 3 per GB/T 8923.1-2011) and patch-primed before applying G43-97.
*Repair/Maintenance: G43-97 can be applied directly over sound, intact aged G43-97 coating after thorough fresh water washing and degreasing. Loose or peeling coating must be removed back to a firm edge, and the area should be repaired with a suitable primer before the full topcoat is applied.
Limitations:
1.This product is not recommended for use in immersed or continuously submerged conditions.
2.When applying by brush or roller, some colors may require two coats of G43-97 to achieve uniform coverage, especially over dark undercoats.
3.Apply only in good weather conditions. The surface temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point, and ambient relative humidity must be below 85%.
Health And Safety:
Avoid prolonged inhalation of solvent vapors or paint mist. Prevent skin and eye contact with the product. Ensure adequate ventilation and take proper fire prevention measures during application.
