W61-01 Heat-Resisting Aluminum Paint

Product Description

W61-01 Heat-Resisting Aluminum Paint

Product Introduction:

W61-01 Heat-Resisting Aluminum Paint is a single-pack, ready-to-use aluminium heat-resisting paint based on silicone resin, specifically formulated to provide long-term corrosion protection and decorative finish for steel substrates operating under elevated temperature conditions. With a continuous heat resistance rating of 300°C to 350°C, this coating is the industry-preferred solution for high-temperature equipment where conventional organic coatings would rapidly degrade and fail.

The paint incorporates leafing aluminium pigment, which not only imparts a distinctive silver metallic gloss appearance but also delivers exceptional functional benefits. The overlapping plate-like aluminium particles create a dense physical barrier layer that effectively reflects infrared and thermal radiation, reducing heat absorption by the substrate, while simultaneously blocking moisture, oxygen, and corrosive media from penetrating to the steel surface. This dual-action mechanism ensures that the coating maintains its protective integrity even under severe thermal cycling and intermittent high-temperature exposure.

As a one-pack system, it eliminates the need for on-site mixing with curing agents, significantly simplifying application logistics, reducing material waste, and minimizing the potential for mixing errors. The product cures rapidly at ambient temperatures and can also be force-dried at elevated temperatures to accelerate handling and commissioning. With a VOC content of less than 535g/L, it balances environmental considerations with robust high-temperature performance. The paint is available exclusively in silver (metallic finish) with a glossy sheen, providing both functional protection and a professional aesthetic appearance.

Key Features & Benefits:

1.Superior Heat Resistance: Withstands continuous operating temperatures from 300°C up to 350°C, making it ideal for exhaust systems and high-temperature process equipment.

2.Effective Corrosion Protection: The aluminium pigment provides a labyrinthine barrier against moisture and aggressive atmospheric agents, extending asset service life.

3.Single-Pack Convenience: Ready-to-use formulation eliminates mixing errors and reduces preparation time, simplifying onboard maintenance and newbuilding application.

4.Fast Curing: Touch-dry in as little as 30 minutes at 25°C and fully hard in 6 hours, minimizing downtime between coats and allowing early return to service.

5.Versatile Application: Suitable for airless spray, air spray, and brush/roller application for touch-up and small-area repairs.

Film Thickness & Theoretical Coverage:

Parameter Minimum Standard Maximum
Dry Film Thickness (DFT) 20 μm 30 μm 40 μm
Wet Film Thickness (WFT) 50 μm 75 μm 100 μm
Theoretical Coverage 20 m²/L 13.3 m²/L 10 m²/L

Application & Curing:

1.Mixing Ratio: Single-pack — no mixing required.

2.Application Methods: Airless spray is recommended with tip size 0.38–0.53mm and output pressure ≥17MPa. Air spray (tip 2.0–3.0mm, ≥0.4MPa) and brush/roller (for small areas) are also acceptable. Thinner (JX-601) is not recommended except in exceptional cases (max 5% by volume).

3.Drying Data (at 10°C / 25°C / 35°C):

*Touch Dry: 1h / 30min / 20min.

*Hard Dry: 8h / 6h / 3h.

4.Overcoating: 725-W61-01 can be overcoated with itself after a minimum of 8 hours at 10°C, 6 hours at 25°C, or 3 hours at 35°C, with no maximum overcoating interval — providing exceptional scheduling flexibility for maintenance campaigns.

Surface Preparation:

*Newbuilding: Remove weld spatter and smooth seams and sharp edges. Blast clean to Sa2.5 (GB/T 8923.1-2011); weld seams may be cleaned to St3 using power tools. Apply the coating before oxidation occurs on the freshly blasted surface.

*Repair/Maintenance: Clean repair areas to P St3 (mechanical) or P Sa2.5 (abrasive blasting) per GB/T 8923.2-2008, feather surrounding edges, and keep overlap areas to a minimum.

Packaging, Storage & Safety:

*Pack Size: 19.8kg/18L in a 20L container.

*Flash Point: >28°C (flammable — handle with care).

*Shelf Life: 12 months minimum at 25°C, stored in cool, dry, ventilated conditions away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and open flames.

Limitations:

*Apply when surface temperature is at least 3°C above dew point and relative humidity is below 85%.

*Not recommended for continuous immersion service or areas subject to mechanical abrasion.

*Avoid prolonged inhalation of solvent vapors; ensure adequate ventilation and fire prevention measures during application, as the product is flammable.
