Product Introduction:

The Type C Sound Absorbing Lining Panel is a lightweight, cost-effective acoustic treatment panel designed for marine and offshore environments where noise reduction is required but A-class or B-class fire ratings are not mandatory. Compliant with SOLAS requirements and IMO FTP Code Part 3 for C-class divisions, this panel effectively reduces reverberation and echo in enclosed spaces such as accommodation corridors, cabins, offices, canteens, and ventilation rooms.

The panel features a perforated steel facer (one or both sides) bonded to a high-density rock wool core that absorbs sound energy. Sound waves enter through the perforations, travel into the fibrous rock wool core, and are converted into minute amounts of heat through friction, significantly reducing reflected noise. The core is non-combustible (IMO FTP Code Part 1) and the surface meets Class 1 or 2 surface flammability (IMO FTP Code Part 5).

Unlike Type A acoustic panels, Type C panels do not require hose stream testing or strict temperature rise limits, making them more economical and lighter while still delivering excellent acoustic absorption. Typical applications include machinery space linings, pump rooms, fan rooms, accommodation corridors, and public areas on cruise ships, ferries, cargo vessels, and offshore platforms.

The panel is certified by major classification societies including DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, and Bureau Veritas for C-class applications.
