Product Description
Class B15 Type C Rock Wool Wall Panel
Product Introduction:
The Type C Rock Wool Wall Panel is a cost-effective, non-structural interior partition panel specifically designed for marine and offshore applications where fire resistance is required but the stringent A-class rating of Type A or Type B panels is not mandatory. Designed to meet SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) requirements and IMO FTP Code Part 3 for C-class divisions, this panel provides reliable fire protection, thermal insulation, and acoustic performance for accommodation areas, corridors, offices, and other low-risk interior spaces on ships, offshore platforms, and marine vessels.

Key Features:
1.Fire Performance (Class B15):
Certified to Marine Class B15, meaning the panel provides at least 15 minutes of fire integrity and insulation during initial fire exposure. It limits temperature rise on the non-exposed side, ensuring critical evacuation time and compartmentalization on vessels.
2.Type C Configuration:
Features a specific edge detailing (typically a ship-lap or tongue-and-groove joint) for rapid, secure installation. Type C panels are often designed for partition walls in accommodation areas, control rooms, and corridors where both fire resistance and mechanical strength are required.
3.Rock Wool Core:
Made from high-density, water-repellent rock wool (stone wool) that offers:
*A-class non-combustibility (IMO A, B, or F ratings depending on assembly)
*Excellent sound absorption – reduces noise from engines, waves, and HVAC systems
*Low thermal conductivity – minimizes heat transfer and condensation
*Resistance to mould, humidity, and vibration – ideal for harsh sea conditions
Typical Applications:
*Fire-rated bulkheads and linings on cargo ships, passenger ferries, and yachts
*Offshore platforms and FPSO vessels (Floating Production Storage and Offloading)
*Marine accommodation cabins, galleys, and escape corridors
*Engine room boundaries and service ducts
Advantages:
*Lightweight yet strong – reduces dead load on ship structures
*Easy to cut and install – Type C edges ensure tight joints
*Low maintenance – resists corrosion and biological growth
*Environmentally friendly – rock wool is made from natural basalt and recycled slag
