Product Introduction:
The Compound of Type A Rock Wool Lining Panel is a high-performance composite fire protection panel specifically engineered for marine and offshore applications requiring superior thermal insulation, fire resistance, and acoustic performance. The term "Compound" refers to a multi-layer construction that combines a high-density rock wool core with steel facers on one or both sides, often integrated with additional acoustic membranes, vapor barriers, or decorative finishes to create a complete lining solution for bulkheads, decks, and machinery spaces.
This panel is designed to meet SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) requirements and IMO FTP Code Part 3 for A-class divisions. The rock wool core provides exceptional fire insulation, while the steel facers deliver mechanical strength, impact protection, and a cleanable surface. The "compound" nature allows for customization including reinforced layers, foil vapor barriers, sound absorption membranes, and decorative laminates — all factory-bonded into a single, easy-to-install panel.

The panel is certified by major classification societies including DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas, CCS, and NK, with fire ratings available from B-15 up to A-60.
Unlike simple rock wool blankets or non-faced insulation, the Compound Type A Rock Wool Lining Panel offers a rigid, self-supporting structure that can be installed directly onto steel framing or existing substrates without additional cladding. This reduces installation time, labor costs, and total system weight while ensuring consistent fire protection across the entire surface.
