Product Description
Reducer Hose For Floating Oil/NG/LPG Hose
Product Introduction:
Reducer floating hose is between mainline hose (big bore) and tail hose (small bore).
From the large end to the small end, hose diameter gradually reduces. Every part of hose shares the same outer diameter. Typical reduction sizes: 24"→20", 20"→16", 16"→12".Min.reserve buoyancy:20%as standard;Electrically continuous as standard
The Reducer Hose is a specialized transition component designed for offshore floating hose systems used in the transfer of crude oil, natural gas (NG), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). It provides a smooth, turbulence‑reducing connection between floating hoses or manifolds of different diameters. Typical applications include Single Point Mooring (SPM), CALM buoys, FPSO offloading, and LNG/LPG ship‑to‑ship (STS) transfer operations.
Function:
In a floating hose string, the mainline hose diameter may differ from the vessel’s manifold or from adjacent hose sections. The Reducer Hose bridges this dimensional gap safely, maintaining flow efficiency and structural integrity while keeping the entire transfer line afloat.
Key Features:
1.Gradual Diameter Transition
Engineered with a tapered or stepped internal profile to minimize pressure drop, cavitation, and fluid turbulence when changing from a larger to a smaller bore (or vice versa).
2.Full Buoyancy Integration
Incorporates a syntactic foam or foam‑filled flotation layer over its entire length. This ensures the reducer section does not sink, preventing snagging on mooring lines or subsea structures.
3.Medium‑Specific Material Compatibility
*Oil service: NBR (Nitrile) inner liner – resistant to crude and refined hydrocarbons.
*NG service: Special gas‑tight compounds with low permeation.
*LPG service: LPG‑resistant synthetic rubber designed for low temperatures and high vapour pressure.
4.Robust Reinforcement
Multiple layers of high‑tensile synthetic textile and helical steel wires provide excellent collapse resistance (for suction) and burst strength (for discharge), matching or exceeding mainline hose ratings.
5.Marine Environment Durability
Outer cover made of CSM (Hypalon®) or CR (Neoprene) – resistant to ozone, UV, seawater, and abrasion. End fittings are corrosion‑protected (galvanized or stainless steel).
