Product Description

Class A60 Type C Rock Wool Wall Panel

Product Introduction:

The Marine Class A60 Type C Rock Wool Wall Panel is a high-integrity, non-combustible composite panel designed for critical fire-rated divisions in marine and offshore applications. Certified to the highest A60 classification under the IMO FTP Code, it provides 60 minutes of fire resistance against both integrity (flame passage) and insulation (temperature rise), making it an essential component for passive fire protection on ships, oil rigs, and floating production units.

Key Features:

1.A60 Fire Performance (IMO Certified)

The panel withstands a standard fire test for 60 minutes without allowing flame passage on the unexposed side, while limiting the average temperature rise to no more than 140°C (252°F) and any single point to 180°C (356°F). This provides critical evacuation time and prevents fire spread between compartments.

2.Type C Edge Configuration

Features precision-engineered Type C joints (typically tongue-and-groove or step-lap design) for rapid, gap-free installation. The interlocking edges ensure mechanical stability under vibration and thermal expansion, while maintaining fire integrity at panel junctions.

3.High-Density Rock Wool Core

Manufactured from A-class non-combustible rock wool (stone wool) with the following properties:

*Density: typically 120–200 kg/m³ depending on thickness

*Melting point > 1000°C (1832°F)

*Zero flame spread and zero smoke generation

*Excellent sound insulation (up to RW 45–50 dB)

*Hydrophobic treatment for moisture resistance in marine environments

4.Heavy-Duty Steel Facings

Supplied with corrosion-resistant steel facings (typically 0.5–0.8 mm pre-galvanised or stainless steel) finished in marine-grade coatings (e.g., white RAL 9010 or custom colours). Facings provide mechanical strength, cleanability, and resistance to saline atmospheres.

Typical Applications:

*A60 class bulkheads between engine rooms, pump rooms, and accommodation areas

*Fire-rated corridors and stairwell enclosures on passenger ships, Ro-Ro vessels, and tankers

*Offshore platform living quarters – A60 divisions around high-risk zones

*FPSO process modules and control rooms

*Escape routes and fire-resisting doors (as infill panels)

Advantages for Marine Use:

*Maximum fire safety – full 60-minute integrity and insulation

*Lightweight alternative to steel plate – reduces deadweight on vessels

*Vibration resistant – Type C joints maintain seal under dynamic loads

*Fast installation – reduces outfitting time in shipyards

*Low maintenance – corrosion-resistant facings withstand salty, humid air

*Thermal and acoustic comfort – reduces heat gain from adjacent hot compartments and engine noise
