8×84 WSNS Class Compacted Strand Wire Rope
Product Description
8×84 WSNS Class Compacted Strand Wire Rope
Product Introduction:
Engineered for the most severe heavy‑lift, deep-water, and ultra‑large‑scale offshore operations, our 8×84WSNS Compacted Strand Wire Rope strictly complies with GB/T 20067-2006 and represents a refined evolution in 8‑strand rotation‑resistant rope technology. The 84‑wire complex lay pattern (Warrington-Seale-Non-Seale) within each of the eight strands delivers an optimal balance of flexibility, fatigue resistance, and torque balance-making it the superior choice for single‑fall hoisting, multi‑layer drum winding, and applications where load spin must be absolutely minimised.
The compacted outer strands undergo a precision densification process that increases the metallic fill factor by up to 15%, delivering significantly higher breaking loads than conventional round‑strand ropes of the same nominal diameter. The smooth, reduced‑diameter surface minimises abrasion against sheaves, improves inter‑layer stability during multi‑layer spooling, and extends both rope and sheave life. The increased wire count (84 vs. 80) provides even finer stress distribution, enhancing bending fatigue performance under the most demanding cyclic loading conditions.
Core Options To Match Your Duty Cycle:
*FC (Fibre Core)-Provides superior elasticity and shock absorption, ideal for harbour cranes, grab hoists, and applications with frequent start/stop cycles.
*IWR / IWRC (Independent Wire Rope Core)-Delivers maximum crushing resistance and the highest possible breaking strength, recommended for continuous heavy‑hoist operations, mooring winches, and towing hawsers subjected to extreme radial loads.

Key Performance Advantages:
1.Exceptional Breaking Loads-Fully compliant with GB/T 20067-2006, achieving breaking forces at the highest levels for large‑diameter marine ropes (available up to 200 mm nominal diameter).
2.Superior Rotation Resistance-The 8‑strand geometry significantly reduces torque and untwisting tendency, ensuring stable load control and safer single‑line lifts.
3.Enhanced Fatigue Life-The 84‑wire lay pattern minimises internal point‑to‑point wire contact, delivering outstanding bending fatigue performance under millions of cycles over sheaves and drums-outperforming standard 80‑wire constructions in extreme service.
4.Excellent Spooling Characteristics-Compaction provides a uniform outer surface that improves layer‑to‑layer winding on winch drums, reducing wear and crushing.
5.Broad Diameter Range-Available from 60 mm to 200 mm nominal diameter, covering the largest marine cranes, offshore platforms, and heavy industrial lifting systems.
6.Reliable Weight Data-Actual weight tolerance within ±6% as per standard, ensuring precise deadload calculations for crane stability and vessel trim.
Primary Marine & Offshore Applications:
1.Ultra‑Large Shipboard Cranes-Main hoist and luffing ropes for the world's largest deck cranes on bulk carriers, container ships, and heavy‑lift vessels.
2.Offshore Floating Cranes-Hoist ropes for floating sheerlegs, semi‑submersible crane vessels, and deep‑water construction platforms.
3.Single‑Fall Hoisting Systems-Rotation‑resistant ropes for single‑line lifts where load spin must be eliminated, including offshore wind turbine installation vessels.
4.Mooring Winches for FPSOs & VLCCs-High‑strength mooring lines for large floating production and storage units and very large crude carriers.
5.Towing & Salvage-Heavy‑duty towlines and recovery hawsers for ocean‑going tugs and salvage vessels.
6.Deep‑Sea Lowering & ROV Handling-Ropes for subsea equipment deployment, remotely operated vehicle handling, and oceanographic winches.
7.Mining & Industrial Hoisting-Large-diameter ropes for shaft hoisting, draglines, and heavy industrial overhead cranes.
All ropes are available in bright, galvanised, or compacted-surface finishes, with custom lubrication to suit tropical, arctic, or saltwater environments. Certification from major classification societies (ABS, LR, BV, DNV‑GL, NK, KR, IRS, RMRS, CCS) is supplied as standard.
