6×80WSNS Class Compacted Strand Wire Rope
Product Description
6×80WSNS Class Compacted Strand Wire Rope
Product Introduction:
Engineered for the most severe offshore and shipboard lifting applications, our 6×80WSNS Compacted Strand Wire Rope complies with GB/T 20067-2006 and represents a breakthrough in rotation-resistant, high-fatigue-life steel rope design. The WSNS (Warrington-Seale-Non-Seale) construction combines multiple wire layers with an optimal balance of wear resistance and flexibility, while the compacted outer strands significantly increase the metallic fill factor, delivering superior breaking loads and excellent spooling behaviour on multi-layer drums.
Core Options - Available with two core types to match your operational needs:
*FC (Fibre Core) - Provides enhanced elasticity and shock absorption, ideal for applications with frequent starts/stops and dynamic loading.
*IWR (Independent Wire Rope Core) - Offers maximum crushing resistance and higher breaking strength, recommended for heavy-duty hoisting, mooring, and towing where extreme radial loads occur.

Key Performance Advantages:
1.High-Strength & Lightweight - Compacted strands achieve breaking loads up to 9770 kN (for 120 mm, 1960 MPa grade with IWR) - up to 15% higher than conventional ropes of the same diameter.
2.Exceptional Fatigue Life - The 80-wire complex lay pattern minimises internal stress concentrations, dramatically extending service life under millions of bending cycles over sheaves and drums.
3.Rotation-Resistant Design - The multi-layer strand construction reduces torque and rotation under load, critical for single-fall hoisting, offshore cranes, and deep-water operations.
4.Smooth Surface & Low Wear - Compaction creates a smooth exterior that reduces abrasion against sheaves, increases wear resistance, and improves load distribution.
5.Large Diameter Range - Available from 60 mm to 120 mm nominal diameter, covering the heaviest marine and industrial lifting requirements.
6.Weight Accuracy - Actual weight tolerance within ±6% as per standard, ensuring precise vessel stability and crane capacity calculations.
Marine & Offshore Applications:
*Shipboard Cranes-Hoist and luffing ropes for deck cranes, gantry cranes, and container handling systems.
*Offshore Platform Lifting-Main hoist ropes for floating cranes, heavy-lift vessels, and supply ship cranes.
*Mooring & Anchoring-Permanent and temporary mooring lines for FPSOs, semi-submersibles, and large tankers.
*Towing & Salvage-Towlines, towing hawsers, and wreck-recovery ropes subject to high shock loads.
*Multi-Layer Drum Winches-Excellent spooling performance for winches with multiple rope layers.
*Deep-Sea Exploration-Lowering/lifting systems for subsea equipment and ROV handling.
All ropes can be supplied with galvanised or bright finish, lubricated for corrosion resistance, and certified by major classification societies (ABS, LR, BV, DNV-GL, NK, KR, IRS, RMRS, CCS). Custom lengths, reeling, and end terminations (sockets, thimbles, eyes) are available to suit your project specifications.
