Product Description
1.0m3/h 15ppm Oily Water Separator
Product Introduction:
The High-Precision Emulsion-Treating DY-1.0 Type 15ppm Bilge Water Separator represents the flagship capacity model in the DY series, delivering a nominal throughput of 1.0 m³/h while setting a new benchmark for treating the most challenging oily bilge mixtures – particularly stable emulsions that routinely defeat conventional separators. Engineered in full compliance with IMO MEPC.107(49) – the Revised Guidelines and Specifications for Pollution Prevention Equipment for Machinery Space Bilges of Ships – this unit is purpose-built for larger ocean-going vessels, including very large crude carriers (VLCCs), container ships, bulk carriers, and passenger vessels, where high bilge water generation rates and complex oil-in-water emulsions are daily operational realities.
Superior Emulsion-Breaking Technology – The High-Precision Advantage:
What distinguishes the DY-1.0 from standard separators is its advanced multi-stage emulsion treatment train, specifically optimized to break down both oil-in-water (O/W) and water-in-oil (W/O) emulsions. Modern marine fuels – especially very low sulfur fuel oils (VLSFO) and heavy fuel oils (HSFO) blended with catalytic fines – often form stable microscopic emulsions when mixed with bilge water. These emulsions are notoriously difficult to separate using conventional gravity or simple coalescence methods. The DY-1.0 incorporates:
1.A high-efficiency pre-heating and viscosity-reduction zone that lowers interfacial tension between oil and water molecules;
2.A patented enhanced-coalescence matrix with optimized fiber diameter and packing density, designed to capture and merge micron-sized oil droplets;
3.A fine-polishing filtration stage featuring oleophilic media that ensures the final effluent is polished to well below the 15ppm threshold, even when inlet oil concentrations spike unexpectedly.
This integrated approach guarantees discharge water with oil content consistently <15 ppm – and in most operating conditions, actual performance is significantly lower, providing a robust safety margin for compliance.
Selection Guide for Bilge Water Separator:
| Model | Capacity (m³/h) | Maximum Vessel Gross Tonnage (GT) | Remarks |
| DY-0.1 | 0.1 | 400 | When selecting a bilge water separator for a vessel, it is always advisable to choose a unit with a larger capacity than the statutory minimum requirement. 1. 0.00044G m³/h (G: vessel gross tonnage) — for vessels below 1,000 GT. 2. 0.4 + 0.00004G m³/h — for vessels between 1,000 and 40,000 GT. 3. For vessels between 40,000 and 50,000 GT, select 3.0 m³/h. 4. For vessels above 50,000 GT, select 5.0 m³/h. |

Engineered for Heavy-Duty Service with Minimal Intervention:
The DY-1.0 is not merely a scaled-up version of smaller models – it incorporates design upgrades specifically tailored for high-throughput, continuous-duty operation:
1.Industrial-Grade Construction – Heavy-walled coalescing chambers, corrosion-resistant internal piping, and wear-resistant seals ensure long-term reliability in the harsh environment of an engine room, with a design service life exceeding 12 months before major element replacement.
2.Advanced PLC-Driven Automation – A user-friendly programmable logic controller (PLC) manages the entire separation cycle. Automatic oil discharge is triggered by an oil-water interface sensor, ensuring that collected oil is expelled without carrying over excess water. Self-regulating temperature control maintains the optimal separation window (typically 40–60°C) regardless of ambient conditions, while safety interlocks protect the unit from dry-running, overpressure, and overheating.
3.No Routine Backwashing – Unlike many competitive designs that require frequent back-flushing with fresh water or chemicals, the DY-1.0's self-cleaning flow path and non-fouling media eliminate the need for regular backwashing, dramatically reducing crew workload, conserving fresh water, and lowering consumable costs over the vessel's operational life.
