Product Description
Dredge Pump & Components For Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger
Product Introduction
At the core of every high-performance Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger lies the dredge pump. It is the single most critical component responsible for lifting billions of tons of slurry from the seabed into the hopper. Our comprehensive range of Dredge Pumps and Replacement Components is engineered to deliver the highest hydraulic efficiency while withstanding the extreme abrasion of sand, gravel, and rocks.
Whether you are maintaining navigation channels or reclaiming land from the sea, our pump systems ensure you move more solids with less fuel, keeping your operation profitable and on schedule.
Drawing

1. The Main Pump: Centrifugal Powerhouse
Our dredge pumps are of the heavy-duty, single-wall casing design, optimized for the unique duty cycle of a TSHD (loading and often shore discharging).
*Extra-Thick Wall Sections: Designed with sacrificial wear allowances, ensuring the casing remains intact even after years of abrasion.
*High Efficiency Hydraulics: Computer-optimized impeller and volute geometry maximize the Total Efficiency (pump + motor) across a wide operating range, reducing fuel consumption per cubic meter dredged.
*Oversized Shaft & Bearings: Built to handle the heavy radial loads and shock loads associated with large stones and sudden pressure changes during dredging.
*Easy Maintenance Access: Split casing or strategically placed inspection covers allow for rapid impeller clearance checks and component replacement without removing the pump from the vessel.
2. Wear Components: The Fully Armored Interior
To maximize uptime, the pump is fully lined with a comprehensive suite of interchangeable wear parts. These components are the first line of defense against wear and are designed for quick change-out.
*Impeller: Available in closed, semi-open, or open designs depending on the application (sand vs. gravel). Cast from high-chrome alloys (typically 25%+ Cr) for extreme hardness.
*Volute Liners / Side Liners: Protect the pump casing from wear. Manufactured from Ni-Hard or high-chrome white iron, these liners take the brunt of the slurry flow.
*Suction Side Liner / Throat Plate: Positioned at the inlet, this component maintains a tight clearance with the impeller to prevent recirculation and maintain priming.
*Front & Back Wear Plates: Easily replaceable plates that protect the pump housing and maintain hydraulic efficiency.
3. Auxiliary Components: The Support System
A pump is only as strong as its supporting cast. We provide a full range of ancillary equipment designed for the harsh dredging environment.
*Suction Pipe & Discharge Pipe: Heavy-walled steel pipes with wear-resistant linings (Rubber, Ceramic, or Basalt) to prevent blowouts.
*Gravel Box / Stone Trap: Installed before the pump to catch large stones and debris that could damage the impeller.
*Gland Seal System: Reliable water sealing systems to protect the pump shaft where it exits the casing.
*Expansion Joints: Flexible rubber or metal joints to absorb vibration and thermal expansion in the pipe system.
Customization & Engineering
We understand that no two dredging projects are the same. We offer complete engineering support to select the correct pump speed, diameter, and metallurgy to match your specific soil types and dredging depth.
