Product Description
18×19 Class Round Strand Wire Rope
Product Introduction:
Engineered for the most demanding shipboard and offshore lifting operations, our 18×19 Class Round Strand Wire Rope represents the pinnacle of flexible, non-spin wire rope technology. Featuring an intricate 18-strand construction with 19 wires per strand, this rope is meticulously designed to deliver exceptional anti-rotation performance, significantly reducing the risk of twisting, bird-caging, and load-spinning during single-line crane hoists and high-speed winch operations. It is the premium choice for marine applications requiring both supreme flexibility and reliable fatigue resistance.
Construction Details & Core Options:
The 18×19 Warrington-Seale arrangement consists of 18 highly flexible outer strands wound tightly around a central core. This high-strand-count architecture provides excellent bending properties over small-diameter sheaves, while the high number of individual wires improves the rope's overall metallic cross-sectional area and load-bearing capacity. As illustrated in our standard configurations, this rope is offered with two distinct core types to suit different operational stresses:
*18×19 + FC (Fibre Core): Constructed with a high-tensile natural or synthetic fiber core. This variant provides superior flexibility, excellent shock absorption, and a lighter net weight. It is the ideal choice for ship deck cargo handling, general port lifting, and commercial fishing trawling where the rope must remain pliable and easy to handle in all weather conditions.
*18×19 + IWS (Independent Wire Strand Core): Equipped with an independent 7-wire steel strand core. This configuration dramatically boosts the rope's resistance to radial compression and crushing. It is the recommended option for multi-layer spooling on heavy-duty winch drums, ensuring the rope maintains its structural integrity even under massive compressive forces during deep-sea haulage.

Primary Marine & Industrial Applications:
Given its superior anti-rotation properties and immense flexibility, this 18×19 class is widely deployed in:
*Shipboard cargo cranes and gantry hoisting systems.
*Tugboat towing and salvage retrieval lines.
*Offshore oil and gas platform lifting equipment.
*Multi-layer drum winches on bulk carriers and container vessels.
*Deep-sea anchor handling and dynamic positioning towing.
Operational Advantages & Service Life:
The unique 18×19 arrangement excels in bending fatigue, providing a significantly extended operational lifespan when frequently passing over sheaves. For optimal safety and longevity, we highly recommend a strict lubrication schedule—especially for the +IWS steel core model—to minimize internal friction and prevent premature wear caused by harsh saltwater environments. Regular visual inspections for broken surface wires remain crucial for shipboard safety compliance.
