The Marine Fog-signal Airhorn Type WD-3 is a high-performance pneumatic fog signal horn engineered for large vessels of 200 meters and above in length . Designed to meet international maritime collision regulations (COLREGs), this compressed air-driven horn delivers an exceptionally powerful and penetrating low-frequency sound, ensuring your vessel is heard clearly over extreme distances in the most challenging low-visibility conditions such as dense fog, heavy rain, or storms .
The WD-3 operates using compressed air as its power source, driving a diaphragm to vibrate and produce its characteristic resonant tone . This pneumatic system is renowned for its rugged reliability and ability to produce a sustained, authoritative blast that cuts through environmental noise—ideal for long-distance signaling in adverse weather . When paired with an optional automatic fog horn controller (such as the WDK series), the WD-3 can automatically emit different coded sound signals as required for navigation, collision avoidance, and port operations .
Constructed from high-quality, corrosion-resistant materials, the Type WD-3 is built to withstand the harshest marine environments with minimal maintenance requirements .
