Product Description
3500L/d Marine Wastewater Treatment Plant
Product Introduction:
The 3500L/d Marine Wastewater Treatment Plant is a high-performance, compact treatment system engineered for ocean‑going vessels, offshore platforms, and coastal ships. Designed to handle both black water (toilet waste) and grey water (galley, shower, and laundry discharge), this unit combines biological oxidation, membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology, and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to deliver exceptional effluent quality that meets the most stringent international discharge standards.
With a hydraulic capacity of 3.5 m³/day (3,500 litres) and an organic load capacity of 1.75 kg BOD₅/day, this system is ideally suited for vessels with crews of approximately 50 persons, providing reliable, low‑maintenance wastewater treatment in the harshest marine environments.
Key Features & Benefits:
1. Integrated Three‑Stage Treatment Process
The plant employs a proven treatment train:
*Biological Oxidation – Aerobic bacteria break down organic pollutants into harmless water, carbon dioxide, and inorganic salts.
*Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) – Hollow‑fibre membrane modules (pore size ≤ 0.04 μm) achieve absolute solid‑liquid separation, eliminating the need for a secondary settling tank and producing crystal‑clear permeate.
*UV Disinfection – Ultraviolet sterilisation inactivates pathogenic microorganisms without chemical additives, leaving no harmful disinfectant residual.
2. Fully Automatic & Manual Control
The system is equipped with a PLC-based control panel offering both automatic and manual control modes. The user‑friendly interface provides:
*One‑touch start/stop operation.
*Real‑time monitoring of system status and alarms.
*Automatic backwash and membrane cleaning cycles.
*Fault diagnosis with visual and audible alerts.
3. Compact, Space‑Saving Design
With outline dimensions of 1910mm × 1360mm × 1520mm (L×W×H) , the unit features an integrated tank construction that eliminates separate settling tanks. This compact footprint makes it suitable for installation in confined engine room or pump room spaces where every square metre counts.
4. Robust Marine‑Grade Construction
All wetted components are fabricated from marine‑grade stainless steel, ensuring excellent corrosion resistance in saline and humid marine atmospheres. The tank exterior is finished in Munsell 2.5G7/2, while the control box is painted RAL7035 – both selected for durability and easy maintenance.
5. Low Operating Costs
The system is designed for economy:
*Low power consumption – approximately 3.6 kW at 380V/50Hz/3Ph.
*Extended sludge retention time – minimises waste sludge disposal frequency.
*UV disinfection – eliminates chemical consumption for chlorination.
*Automatic cleaning cycles – reduce manual intervention and maintenance downtime.
6. Easy Installation & Retrofit
Delivered as a pre‑piped, pre‑wired, skid‑mounted unit, the plant can be quickly installed on newbuildings or retrofitted into existing vessels with minimal piping and electrical modifications.
7. Class Approved & Fully Certified
The system holds MED B Certificate of Type Approval and is certified by major classification societies (including CCS, BV, DNV, ABS, and LR). Each unit is supplied with a Class-approved marine product certificate, ensuring seamless acceptance by flag states and port authorities worldwide.
