Product Description
H06-19 Marine Epoxy Zinc Yellow Primer
Product Introduction:
H06-19 Marine Epoxy Zinc Yellow Primer is a high-performance, two-pack epoxy anticorrosive primer formulated with zinc yellow pigment. Specifically developed for aluminum alloy substrates, this primer provides exceptional corrosion protection in aggressive marine environments. With a VOC content of less than 300 g/L, it meets modern environmental regulations while delivering robust performance for newbuilding, maintenance and repair, and onboard maintenance applications.
Intended Uses:
This primer is designed for corrosion protection of aluminum and light alloy surfaces. It is suitable for use in new ship construction, as well as routine maintenance and repair, and in-service touch-ups during voyage.
Product Information:
H06-19 is a two-pack epoxy primer containing zinc yellow anticorrosive pigment. It has a volume solids content of 65% ± 2% and a matt (flat) finish. The mix ratio is 3:1 by volume or 5:1 by mass. The product has a VOC content of less than 300 g/L.
Application Methods:
*Airless Spray (Recommended): Tip size range of 0.38–0.53 mm with an output pressure of ≥ 17 MPa.
*Air Spray: Tip size range of 2.0–3.0 mm with an output pressure of ≥ 0.4 MPa.
*Brush / Roller: Suitable for small area application only.
Thinner: Not recommended for general use. In exceptional circumstances, HX-501 thinner may be added at a maximum of 5% by total volume.Cleaner: HX-501 is recommended for equipment cleaning.
Film Thickness & Theoretical Coverage:

| Dry Film Thickness (DFT) | 50 μm | 50 μm | 100 μm |
| Wet Film Thickness (WFT) | 77 μm | 77 μm | 154 μm |
| Theoretical Coverage | 13 m²/L | 13 m²/L | 6.5 m²/L |
Drying & Overcoating Data:
| Parameter | 10℃ | 25℃ | 35℃ |
| Touch Dry | 6h | 4h | 3h |
| Hard Dry | 48h | 24h | 20h |
| Pot Life | 6h | 4h | 2h |
| Overcoating - Min | 36h | 20h | 16h |
| Overcoating - Max | 14d | 7d | 5d |
Surface Preparation:
1.All surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry, and free from contamination.
2.For aluminum or light alloy substrates, the surface should be solvent cleaned to remove grease and contaminants, ensuring it remains clean, dry, and free from metal corrosion products. The substrate should then be lightly abraded with sandpaper to provide a mechanical key before primer application.
Repair & Maintenance:
For repair areas, the damaged coating should be mechanically removed down to bare metal. The area immediately surrounding the repair should also be abraded to provide a key for subsequent coating application. Overlap areas between old and new coatings should be kept to a minimum.
Storage:
H06-19 should be stored in cool, dry, well-ventilated conditions, protected from direct sunlight. Keep away from heat sources and open flames. Containers must remain tightly sealed. The shelf life is 12 months minimum at 25°C, subject to re-inspection after this period.
Packaging:
*Part A (Base): 23.5 kg / 15 L in a 20 L container
*Part B (Hardener): 4.7 kg / 5 L in a 6 L container
Flash Point:
*Part A (Base): Greater than 31°C
*Part B (Hardener): Greater than 29°C
*Mixed Product: Greater than 31°C
Application Limitations:
1.The product will not cure adequately at temperatures below 5°C. For maximum performance, ambient curing temperature should be above 10°C.
2.Application should be carried out in good weather conditions. Relative humidity must be below 85%, and the substrate temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point.
3.Like all epoxy-based coatings, H06-19 will exhibit surface chalking upon prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light.
4.Drying times and overcoating intervals may vary depending on onsite environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation.
Typical Applications:
*Anticorrosive primer for aluminum alloy structures on ships and offshore platforms.
*Newbuilding construction and major refits.
*Routine maintenance and in-service touch-ups.
*Marine equipment and components requiring lightweight alloy protection.
