Product Description
FH61-3 Marine Novolac Epoxy Anticorrosive Coating
Product Introduction:
FH61-3 Novolac Epoxy Anticorrosive Coating is a two-component novolac epoxy heavy-duty anticorrosive coating, engineered for extreme service conditions where both chemical resistance and heat resistance are critical. As a high-performance phenolic epoxy system, it offers superior cross-linking density compared to standard epoxy coatings, resulting in an exceptionally tight, impermeable film that provides outstanding protection against aggressive chemicals, high temperatures, and moisture ingress.
This coating is specifically formulated for heavy-duty anti-corrosion applications in demanding industrial environments. It delivers excellent adhesion to properly prepared steel substrates, long-term durability, and resistance to thermal cycling, making it a reliable solution for critical infrastructure where coating failure is not an option. The product features a high volume solids content of 75% and low VOC emissions (<200 g/L), balancing superior performance with environmental compliance.
Key Features:
1.High Build Capability: With a volume solids of 75% ± 2%, it enables thick film application in a single coat (up to 250 μm DFT), reducing labor and application time.
2.Excellent Chemical Resistance: Provides robust protection against a wide range of chemicals, acids, alkalis, and aggressive industrial wastewater.
3.Superior Heat Resistance: Designed to withstand elevated temperatures, making it suitable for heat-exposed areas and thermal cycling conditions.
4.Low VOC: VOC content is less than 200 g/L, meeting stringent environmental regulations.
5.Versatile Application: Suitable for airless spray (tip size 0.45–0.68 mm, pressure ≥17 MPa) and brush/roller for small areas. Air spray is not recommended.

Recommended Use:
This product is specifically designed for heatproof heavy-duty anticorrosive areas, with primary applications including:
*Storage tanks and piping systems in petrochemical plants handling aggressive chemicals and hydrocarbons.
*Chemical plant equipment, storage vessels, and wastewater treatment facilities.
*Secondary containment areas and process equipment exposed to corrosive media and elevated service temperatures.
Surface Preparation & Application:
1.Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from oil, grease, and soluble contaminants (per SSPC-SP1).
2.For new construction, abrasive blast clean to Sa2½ (GB/T 8923.1-2011). If oxidation occurs between blasting and coating application, the surface must be reblasted to the specified standard.
3.Surface defects revealed by blast cleaning should be ground, filled, or treated appropriately.
4.For repair work, clean to P St3 by mechanical method (GB/T 8923.2-2008) and abrade surrounding areas for proper adhesion.
5.Apply when surface temperature is at least 3°C above dew point and relative humidity is below 85%.
Limitations:
1.Like all epoxy-based coatings, FH61-3 will exhibit surface chalking (powdering) upon prolonged UV exposure. It is not recommended as a topcoat for exterior, sunlight-exposed areas without a suitable UV-resistant finish.
2.Drying and overcoating intervals may vary with on-site environmental conditions.
Storage & Packaging:
*Shelf life: 12 months minimum at 25°C (subject to re-inspection thereafter).
*Flash point: > 28°C (mixed).
