Product Description
Double Braided PET and Nylon Rope
Product Introduction:
The Double Braided PET and Nylon Rope is a high-performance marine rope engineered for demanding mooring, anchoring, towing, and offshore applications. It is manufactured with advanced double-braiding technology using a carefully balanced blend of PET (polyethylene terephthalate, a polyester) and nylon (polyamide) fibers. The double-braided construction consists of a braided core for high strength and a braided outer jacket for superior protection, resulting in a rope that is strong, durable, flexible, and reliable in harsh marine environments.
The PET component provides high tensile strength, low elongation, excellent abrasion resistance, good UV stability, and resistance to seawater and common marine chemicals. The nylon component adds elasticity, shock absorption, and flexibility. This combination allows the rope to remain stable under steady loads while cushioning dynamic surges caused by waves, wind, tides, and vessel movement. As a result, the rope reduces peak loads on deck fittings, winches, bollards, and fairleads, improving safety and extending service life.
The rope is soft yet strong, easy to splice, coil, and handle, which helps reduce crew fatigue and improves operational efficiency. It resists rot, mildew, UV radiation, saltwater, and many chemicals. Because both PET and nylon have a specific density greater than 1.0, the rope is a sinking type and does not float, making it suitable for anchoring, subsea, and other applications where buoyancy is not desired.
This rope is widely used in ship mooring and anchoring, tug and towing operations, ocean transportation, port handling and cargo securing, offshore oil exploration, defense and naval operations, fishing, and mining. It is an excellent upgrade and replacement for traditional 3-strand and 8-strand ropes. The rope is available in standard white and can be customized in other colors. Classification society certificates are available to meet international marine procurement requirements.
