WD Series Marine Air Whistles: Safeguard Navigation Safety
Publish Time: 2026-10-29 Origin: Site
Marine air whistles are essential safety equipment for ship navigation. In conditions of poor visibility such as heavy fog and rainy weather, the sound signals emitted by air whistles serve as vital means for vessels to identify one another and communicate navigation intentions, effectively mitigating the risk of collisions at sea. They can also be used for ship-to-ship communication and warning alerts, protecting seafarers and vessel property. Moreover, they are key marine auxiliary equipment that meets statutory maritime inspection requirements.
Models WD-1A, WD-2A and WD-3 marine air whistles are our flagship marine fog whistles. Developed in accordance with the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972, they feature aluminum-alloy cast horns and have obtained CCS (China Classification Society) certification. Driven by compressed air, the whistles support two operation modes: solenoid-valve electric actuation and manual cable pull. Equipped with heating devices, they can operate normally under low-temperature icing conditions and are suitable for installation on various seagoing vessels.

The three models are designed for ships of different lengths. WD-1A is for vessels under 75 meters in length; WD-2A is for vessels ranging from 75 m to 200 m; WD-3 is for large vessels of 200 meters and above. Meeting specified sound-pressure-level requirements, they operate within an air-supply pressure range of 0.7-1.0 MPa and can withstand harsh marine ambient temperatures from -25℃ to +55℃. Robustly constructed and supplied with complete spare-part kits, these whistles can work with the WDK-2 automatic fog-whistle controller for automatic operation, with straightforward maintenance and inspection procedures.
