Product Introduction:
Our Type A Rock Wool Ceiling Panel is a high-performance marine ceiling panel specifically engineered for fire-resistant deckhead (ceiling) applications in ships, offshore platforms, and marine vessels. The panel features a non-combustible rock wool core with density of 120-150kg/m³, bonded between durable surface finishes including PVC film (150μ, low flame spread), galvanized steel, powder painted steel, or stainless steel .
Certified to B-15 fire class under IMO SOLAS standards, this ceiling panel prevents flame passage and limits temperature rise on the unexposed side for 15 minutes, meeting the stringent requirements of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) Chapter II-2 . The panel delivers excellent thermal insulation with thermal transmittance of 0.58 Kcal/m²h°C, effectively reducing energy consumption by maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures and minimizing heating or cooling requirements .
Beyond fire resistance, Type A rock wool ceiling panels offer superior sound absorption properties, making them ideal for areas where noise control is essential, such as accommodation spaces, public rooms, and crew quarters . The panels are moisture-resistant, preventing mold and mildew growth, and are highly durable with minimal maintenance requirements. They are also resistant to pests and eco-friendly, being manufactured from natural or recycled materials .
Standard dimensions include thickness options of 25mm, 30mm, or 50mm with 550mm width, and lengths up to 3500mm . Weight ranges from 13.5kg/m² to 16.0kg/m² depending on thickness and core density. Installation is straightforward using standard ceiling grid systems, and panels can be easily cut to fit any size or shape requirement. All materials are non-combustible with only minor combustible veneers permitted, ensuring full compliance with marine fire safety regulations .
