Operation guide of release hook for rescue boat/ launched liferaft 

For your safety. please carefully read the instruction for use before using release hook to prevent improper operation and ensure your personal safety.


The manual/autamatic release hook is the release unit used for rescue boats and lifeboats. Made of stainless steel, the design is of manual/automatic integratioin differentiated by red and green. 


Red rope handIe means automatic reIease while green one means manuaI release. It is safe and easy to use.


1.1 Push the green manual handle upward to lock the release hook, i.e. the position of hook (the red arrow is pointing up in the plote)


1.2 Push the baffle upward and put the steel wire rope or collar for boat lifting valve in the hook to lift.


1.3 Releose hook unlocked, before hanging boat valve rope or casing ring on hanger position, then lock release hook at hook position, can be lifted weights. (must be 2operators) 


2. After lifting, pull the red handle while falllng so that the control handle is in the position for automatic release (the red arrow is poinfing down in the plate). It can automatically release without load when the boots fall fo the water surface.


3.1 the release hook can only be manually released under the condition of the automatic release function is on. When releasing a roft, pullins the green hondle above the water surface is strictly prohibited.


3.2 In the normal operotion. lower the raft to the water surface on the operator can only pull the green hondle after off-load for manual releasing (with the green arrow in the sign down)


3.3 Under severe natural environment, the release hook would produce partial on-load which will influence the automotic release function. In case of emergency, pull the green handle for manual releasing.


Instruction for maintenance :

1 The release hook must be maintained quarterly. You can clean it with sewing machine oil ond then add lubricating grease ISY 1413-80) to all moving parts to ensure its normal operation while being used.


 2.If you tind that moving ports of  fhe release hook is not   moving or working. you should  conduct a thorough examination. If doma ged ports ore found. you should timely repla ce them (parts will be supplied by manufa cturers). You con visit oi call us.


3.Release hook check-over. mointenon ce, after assembly hook. responding to release for 1.1times, 2.5 limes test work load above 3 times, eligible before being put to use.


4.If the steel ball in the locating hole of the control handle is loose after a long-time use. you should adjust the tightening bolts to the best position (it is adjusted ready before delivery.)


5.If the release hook is not used for a long time, it can't be locked. Instead, it should be in release state. This can lengthen the service life of the spring.
