Marine Cargo Oil Pump For Vessel

The cargo oil pump is a special machine on a cargo oil transport ship. The cargo oil loading and unloading is mainly done by it. Therefore, it is as important as the lifting machinery on a dry cargo ship.

Due to the different sizes of cargo tankers, the different types of oil loaded, and the different specific conditions of each type of tanker, the requirements for cargo pumps are also different.  There are many types of cargo oil pumps used on cargo tankers. The common ones are rotary cargo oil pumps, reciprocating cargo oil pumps, and centrifugal cargo oil pumps.

According to the different driving methods, there are mainly: steam direct-acting cargo pumps, steam turbine cargo pumps, electric motor cargo pumps, diesel cargo pumps, hydraulic motor cargo pumps.

The selection of cargo pumps usually starts from the three main points of safety, economy, and maintenance and management, and chooses according to the actual situation.

The cargo pumps of small cargo tankers are mainly electric rotary pumps, especially on small product tankers, mostly electric gear pumps are used as cargo pumps.

On small cargo tankers under 15,000 tons, steam direct-acting reciprocating piston pumps are used as cargo oil pumps.

Most of the cargo oil tankers above 20,000 tons use steam turbine-driven centrifugal cargo oil pumps, because they have the advantages of large displacement, safety and reliability, and can meet the needs of large cargo tankers.
