Recently, the 7,700 deadweight ton oil and chemical tanker "HERCULES ELISABETH", constructed by CCCC Fourth Harbor Engineering Co., Ltd. Jiangmen Hangtong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., successfully completed all construction work and was officially delivered to the shipowner. The vessel had already completed its sea trials in the waters near Jiangmen in September 2025, demonstrating excellent performance across various indicators and meeting the expected standards, laying a solid foundation for this delivery.
During the sea trials, the Hangtong project team conducted comprehensive inspections of the ship’s core systems, carrying out over twenty key functional tests. These tests covered the startup and operation of propulsion motors, the load capacity of power generator sets, the efficiency of oil-water separation equipment, and the effectiveness of the nitrogen system. The trials fully validated the stability and reliability of the vessel’s power, electrical, environmental protection, and cargo handling systems. The success of these sea trials marked a critical step toward the vessel’s delivery and highlighted Hangtong Company’s solid technical capabilities and excellent quality control in the construction of medium-sized oil and chemical tankers.
The "HERCULES ELISABETH" has a length of 103.88 meters, a breadth of 19 meters, a depth of 10 meters, a design draft of 7.2 meters, and a design speed of 10 knots. The vessel has been successfully classified by the internationally authoritative Lloyd’s Register (LR), meets the requirements for unlimited navigation areas, and possesses the capability for ocean-going voyages and operations.
The vessel excels in both functionality and environmental performance. In terms of functionality, the cargo hold area is equipped with five pairs of cargo oil tanks and two pairs of slop tanks, each fitted with independent cargo oil pumps. This configuration supports the simultaneous loading and unloading of six different types of cargo, significantly enhancing compatibility and operational efficiency for multi-category chemical transportation. Environmentally, the ship adopts a diesel generator-driven power supply system, with emissions compliant with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) TIER Ⅲ standards. This effectively reduces pollutants such as nitrogen oxides while actively adhering to the principles of green shipping.
It is reported that after delivery, the "HERCULES ELISABETH" will sail to the European region to begin operations, providing support for the development of the local maritime economy.
