Automatic Fog Horn Controller With Air Horn

When in fog weather, the visibility at sea was extremely poor, which brought great difficulties to the normal navigation of ships. In the history of navigation, there were a large number of accidents related to the collision of ships and the collision of reefs caused by fog. In order to ensure the safety of fog navigation, it is very necessary to have fog horn to be constantly sounded to attract the attention of passing ships.

The features of the automatic fog horn controller with air horn, Model WDK-2 model are as followed:

WDK-2 fog horn signal controller is used for controlling the cycled acoustic and optical signals of auto. tone generated by air horn.

It is comply with the CCS rules. And suitable for varies vessels.

Microcomputer chip is adopted; switch panel is covered with PVC, safe and reliable with simple structure and low power consumption.

Meets the requirements stipulated in “Convention on the International Regulation for Preventing Collisions at Sea” (COLREG) and “International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea” (SOLAS). It can automatically send out different sound and light signals.

All sirens and light signals can be controlled automatically, manually, or by remote. Remote control is made by water-tight buttons. The numbers and installation position of the water-tight buttons are not limited. The dimensions, sizes and numbers of the water-tight buttons may be requested upon order-placing.

The brightness of the work indicator is adjustable which creates a good environment for the sailor to observe and will not distract his/her concentration.

A number of different power supplies are offered including AC220V, AC110V and DC24V. Individual request can be made upon order-placing.

When AC power supply comes across loss of voltage, it will automatically switch to the backup power supply of DC24V. The power supply and automatic switch may be requested upon order-placing.

Types of control: embedded and wall-hung.

Our product meets the requirements on sound and light signals stipulated in “Convention on the International Regulation for Preventing Collisions at Sea” (COLREG).

According to item 35 in “COLREG”: Sound signals should be used in poor visibility. (Poor visibility refers to limited visibility under the circumstances of fog, dust-storm, snow, storm, sand storm and etc.) The sound signals of our product:

Siren Type :

— /2min                    (1 long ring/2mins)

— —/2min                 (2 long rings/2mins)

— ··/ 2min                 (1 long and 2 short rings/2mins)

— ··· / 2min                (1 long and 3 short rings/2mins)

· — · / 1min                (1 short ,1 long and 1 short rings/1min)

One long ring lasts for 4~6 seconds, one short ring lasts for 1 second. Interval is 2 seconds.

Please see picture 2 for the external wiring diagram for WDK-2 controlled piston electric siren and air siren, controlled air siren 1. Air siren 2 external wiring diagram (see picture 3)

4.Use and Protection of the Control

1.Please uprightly install the wall-hung control and install the external wiring based on the electrical schematic diagram.

2.The supplementary buttons of the control are 2-4 water-tight power switches which should be installed on the left, right and middle of the shipboard according to your need.

3.When the control is in use, press the power switch to “on”. Power is supplied when the indicator on the control panel lights. Any sound signals will be made if” manual” is pressed. ”Sending” will light when signals are sending. If automatic and periodic signal is needed, please press the buttons according to the functions specified on the control panel. Press “manual” if the automatic fog siren needs to stop. Please note that “manual” is not only for manually controlling the siren but also for stopping the siren.

4.Press” Fog Lamp” if fog siren (Morse Light) is needed. The indicator beams. Morse key can be connected with “Fog lamp output button” to send out Morse Signals. If fog light and fog siren need to be work simultaneously, press “Fog lamp & whistles” and press other buttons. “Whistles cont” controls Siren 1 and Siren 2. Press “1+2” if two sirens need to work simultaneously and the indicator beams. (Siren 1 is default setting). Please note that button “1” and “2” are mutually locked.

5.Brightness of the indicator may be adjusted stepwise through “DIM”.

6.Please disconnect power supply before any inspection and repair when it breaks down.

7.Please place the control in dry and ventilated places when it’s not used. Keep from moisture. Periodic inspection is suggested. If it is unused for certain time, please check the insulation resistance of the electric part of the control to its outer surface. If the insulation resistance is lower than 10MΩ, the control needs to be dried until the insulation resistance exceeds 10MΩ.
